Wednesday Street Water Main Improvements

Pump Station #12 & Pump Station #22 Enhancements

The City is gathering information related to the replacement of potable water infrastructure within portions of the Wednesday Street corridor between Potts Road and Capital Circle NE.

Pump Station #12 & Pump Station #22 Enhancements

The proposed project will provide enhanced protection against power outages by installing redundant underground electrical feeds from existing City electrical substations to existing City sanitary sewer pump stations.

Seventh Avenue Water Main Replacement and Sixth Avenue Infrastructure Improvements

The City of Tallahassee Underground Utilities and Public Infrastructure department is planning utility and infrastructure improvements along Seventh Avenue between Centerville Road and N. Gadsden Street.

Pasco, Poppy, Palm Beach and Main Streets Utility Improvement Project

As part of the City of Tallahassee’s commitment to providing reliable utility services, plans are being developed for a water and sanitary sewer improvement project along Pasco, Poppy, Palm Beach and Main streets.

FAMU Way Phase IV

The City of Tallahassee is preparing plans for FAMU Way Phase IV, which begins just west of S. Bronough Street and ends at S. Monroe Street. The project shall provide a safe gateway for motorists, pedestrians and other corridor users, while upgrading underground utilities to address aging infrastructure.

Old Bainbridge Water Main Replacement

Pullen Road Sidewalk Project

To enhance safety and mobility options in the area, the City of Tallahassee is in the planning stage for sidewalk improvements along Pullen Road from Old Bainbridge Road to Fred Smith Road.

Pinewood Drive and Delta Office Park Stormwater Outfall Project

The City of Tallahassee’s Pinewood Drive and Delta Office Park Stormwater Outfall Project is designed to reduce residential flooding and erosion problems that have historically affected properties in the area. The City is also using this opportunity to upgrade the underground utilities and repave the asphalt in the areas of the stormwater construction.

Belle Vue Way Water and Sewer Improvement Project

As part of its commitment to ensuring reliable utility service, the City of Tallahassee Underground Utilities and Public Infrastructure department is planning a water and sewer utility improvement project along Belle Vue Way to replace aging infrastructure.

International Passenger Processing Facility

The City continues to set a strategic focus on completing the International Processing Facility at the Tallahassee International Airport by 2024, as outlined in the City's Five-Year Strategic Plan (Priority Area: Economic Development, Objective 1-A-5). Once established, the International Processing Facility will be a major driver of economic growth for the Big Bend region.

Southside Triangle Water and Sewer Infrastructure

At its Oct. 26, 2022, meeting, the City Commission authorized the City of Tallahassee’s Underground Utility and Public Infrastructure department to proceed with the extension of water and sewer utility infrastructure into the unserved areas of the Southside Triangle.

Lake Ella and DeSoto Utility Upgrades

West Sixth Avenue Sidewalk Project

To enhance safety and mobility options in the area, the City of Tallahassee is developing plans for sidewalk improvements along West Sixth Avenue from Old Bainbridge Road to North Monroe Street.

Orange Avenue Water Main Replacement

As part of its commitment to ensuring reliable service, the City of Tallahassee is planning a water utility improvement project along Orange Avenue between South Adams Street and Wahnish Way.

Railroad Avenue Improvements Project

The City of Tallahassee will soon begin construction of the Railroad Avenue Improvements Project. To enhance safety and mobility options in your area, the City is developing plans for utility, roadway and sidewalk improvements along Railroad Avenue from Railroad Square to Gaines Street.

Redevelopment of Northwood Centre Parcel

The Northwood Centre site is undergoing redevelopment by the City of Tallahassee. Sitting on approximately 29.5 acres, the site is bordered by North Monroe Street, North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Tharpe Street. A key component within this redevelopment is construction of the new headquarters facility for the Tallahassee Police Department. Additionally, the site presents opportunities for new green space, community amenities and other economic development projects.

Betton Hills Area Improvements

A number of projects to improve traffic flow, pedestrian safety, water supply, and drainage in the Betton Hills area.

Victory Garden Drive Sidewalk Improvements

The Victory Garden Drive Sidewalk Improvements project will provide a new sidewalk along Victory Garden Drive from Apalachee Parkway to Park Avenue.

Huntington Estates Water System Improvement

The City of Tallahassee is gathering information about a potential water system improvement project for the Huntington Estates neighborhood.

Richview PASS Project

The City of Tallahassee is undertaking a project on Richview Road to provide a safe corridor for bicyclists and pedestrians, while also upgrading underground utilities to address aging infrastructure.

Zillah PASS Project

The Zillah Street Pedestrian and Street Safety (PASS) project will enclose the open ditch running alongside the roadway and create improvements to pedestrian connectivity. Construction on the project began in April 2023.

Market District Multi-Purpose Stormwater Project

To keep pace with growth and improve the quality of stormwater flowing to Lake Jackson, upgrades to the area's stormwater system are necessary. River Plantation Water Main Replacement Project

The River Plantation Water Main Replacement Project includes the replacement of existing potable water infrastructure in the River Plantation (aka, Wakulla River Club) development.

Lee Avenue Drainage Improvements

As part of our continued dedication to improve existing drainage infrastructure and mitigate drainage issues in Betton Hills and throughout the community, the City of Tallahassee has undertaken the Lee Avenue Drainage Improvement Study.

Sewer Over Septic

Residents can help protect local springs and upgrade their wastewater system for free thanks to Sewer Over Septic grants. For a limited time, the State of Florida through the City of Tallahassee will fund the entire cost of connecting eligible properties to the City's sewer system and abandoning the septic tank—saving you thousands of dollars!

Completed Projects

Smoke Testing of Sewer Lines

As part of its continued commitment to enhance wastewater infrastructure and protect the environment, the City of Tallahassee's Underground Utilities began smoke testing around the community in January. This routine, preventative maintenance test will help identify potential points of unwanted inflow and infiltration in the sewer system, thereby improving wastewater treatment operations and efficiency.

Providence Heart of the Hills Placemaking

The Providence Heart of the Hills Placemaking project encompasses the addition of sidewalks and street trees on Highland Street, Hillsborough Street, and Lake Avenue. Additionally, the intersections of Lake Avenue & Highland Street and Lake Avenue & Hillsborough Street will be repaved with decorative asphalt.

Saxon Street Streetscape Project

The main purpose of this project is to construct a sidewalk along Saxon Street from the existing sidewalk on Campbell Street to Floral Street and improve the landscaping from Orange Avenue to Floral Street. This project is part of the adopted Greater Bond Neighborhood First Plan and represents an important investment in our community.

Park Avenue Ditch Stabilization at Blair Stone Road Bridge

The Park Avenue Ditch Stabilization Project will address erosion and improve maintenance access along the Park Avenue drainage ditch, starting just east of the Redwood Drive/Inglewood Drive intersection and ending just east of the Blair Stone Road Bridge.

Oak Ridge South Water Main Replacement

As part of its commitment to ensuring reliable service, the City of Tallahassee is planning a utility improvement project in the Oak Ridge South neighborhood. The project includes the replacement of approximately 3,700 linear feet of existing potable water mains, fire hydrants, and other components.

South City Country Club Creek Drainage Improvements

As part of continued efforts to invest in and enhance the South City area infrastructure, the City of Tallahassee is implementing the South City – Country Club Creek Drainage Improvements Project.

Country Club Drive Water Main Replacements

The City of Tallahassee is planning a utility improvement project near Country Club Drive to replace the existing potable water infrastructure. Replacing the aging infrastructure will reduce service interruptions caused by maintenance and repair activities. This will allow the City to continue providing reliable, quality water service for area residents for years to come.

Georgia Street Drainage & Infrastructure Improvements Project

As part of its commitment to ensuring reliable service, the City of Tallahassee performed a utility improvement project along West Georgia Street to replace aging infrastructure. The project replaced approximately 2,000 linear feet of existing water mains, 1,600 linear feet of sewer mains and included the installation of 1,600 linear feet of storm drainage pipes.

Call Street Water Valve Replacement Project

The City’s North Monroe & Call Street Water Valve Replacement Project included replacing aging water valves in the intersection of North Monroe Street and Call Street and the intersection of Adams Street and Call Street. Collectively, these investments support the City’s commitment to be a leader in utility service delivery and to proactively address issues related to aging infrastructure.

Balkin Road and Center Drive Water Main Replacement

The City of Tallahassee completed a water main replacement project along Balkin Road and Center Drive. The project included construction of a new 8-inch water main, water services and meters to replace the existing system currently serving the area, as well as replacement of existing fire hydrants and the addition of a few new ones to increase fire protection coverage. The new water facilities are intended to result in reduced utility maintenance activities, improved system capacity and reliability, and increased fire protection.
